A Hopper window is a bottom-pivoting casement window that opens by tilting vertically, typically to the inside–usually for ventilation. Hopper windows are a favorite in schools, but are a good choice for interiors with high ceilings and tall window expanses, or above other window types. Mounted above a door, Hopper windows are often called Transom windows.
